Congratulations to Deuce for earning his Senior Title

Our Mission

Picture
The story of Platte River Peakes has been a long time in the making, and we continue to add to the story what seems like daily.  We continue to learn from the nice dogs and better people in this industry every chance we get.  I first was exposed to the Chesapeake breed in the mid '80s hunting the Platte River with my Uncle Joe Crnkovich.  At that time I was a young greenhorn wearing leaky Red Ball waders that Uncle Joe was kind enough to let me borrow, at the cost of daily torment and the occassional Mountain Dew.  As the seasons would progress we were forced to deal with not just the cold, but the ice and rising swift dangerous water that came with late season Platte River hunting.  It was on those late season hunts that I became enamored with the Chesapeake breed.  It was not a triple mark, or a one whistled blind it was the fact that those dogs never slowed down, never hesitated and were never afraid.

Our kennel is devoted to the Chesapeake breed with the goal of producing healthy, trainable, conforming dogs with a desire to please and be a part of a team.  Our stock will hunt, participate in hunt test and field trials.  We are very particular with the timing of each litter as well pedigree and health clearances of all dogs in our program.  All puppies will be raised both in and out of our home with exposure to our young children, live birds, water (temp. permitting) and gun fire (at a distance).  Thank you for your interest in the Chesapeake breed and the interest in our program.  Please feel free to look around the site and contact us with any questions.

Sincerely,
Tim & Jen Ziola
